The Museu d'Historia de Catalunya in Barcelona is at the end of the Rambla del Centre, and is situated in the enormous Gothic shipyards that produced in the region of 30 warships at a time. The museum exhibits life-size replicas, sea maps, documents and nautical instruments, as well as small models, galleon figures and suchlike nautical accoutrements of the day. The focal point of Barcelona's seafaring history in the museum is the replica of the Galera Real, the flagship the fleet that defeated the Turks at the Battle of Lepanto in October 1571.
